May & Jason’s Wedding Blog

OUR WEDDING DAY ~ September 7, 2008

Official 1 Month to Go!

I realise that it’s officially 1 month to go, until our BIG day! I’m so excited and so is Jason. He better get himself in gear cause he didn’t get his tuxedo yet. I’ve got everything planned already, from wedding dress to air tickets, accommodations etc…except still gotta buy a casual outfit + sandals for lunch after the ceremony.

The ecru lined envelopes arrived so I will have to mail them with the heart stickers + label names to mum & dad in UK. The import tax I paid was equivalent to the same price as the envelpes. How could this be? so it’s 100% tax on this product? So wierd and not good doing business in Canada due to custom duties or what ever duty fees that the shipping company decides that you must pay. I can’t even be bothered to look into this.

I hope the invitation cards would arrive by next wednesday because my envelopes would probably reach them first.

Double Yeah! I’ve lost 11 pounds so far, so got another 7 more pounds to go. The great news is that my mom is deciding to join me for Hot Yoga as well. I hope she could take the heat though…lol

DIY Favors & Ceremony Program

I am doing my own ceremony programs, from designing to printing to attaching fancy pink ribbons. I’m also buying my favors from the States then bringing them in my luggage all the way to Shen Zhen, then Penang for our wedding day. Why must I buy it first and not just buy in China/Malaysia? 1. Just in case, can’t find the same type of favors/colour 2. We want to be more prepared for this wedding and have everything organised before hand.

The wedding invitation card is so long overdue, it should’ve been sent out to guests already but there’s still some minor tweaks and changing that needs to be done before they could be sent off to us (in Canada & UK) and to guests in Alor Star. My uncle from Paris just asked my mom for invitation cards, cause it’s a courtesy to send to our elders, great uncle in Germany I think but I really doubt that he’s coming though.

Anyways, today was an extremely hard + hot Yoga day. All I could think of to movtivate myself to finish the class was my “cold cranblueberry drink” that I could have at home. I walk there and back now. For some odd reason, I do find walking sort of theraputic and enjoying in the midst of a cool afternoon (after it rains) or around sunset time.  So far, I’ve lost 11 pounds. I still have another 7 pounds to lose ideally. But yet, Jason wants me to loose another 15 pounds. I really don’t think so….that’s too much. You know when they say, you lose fast, you gain even faster. I want this weight loss process to be steady, something that I can stabilize and maintain because now…I actually feel more healthier + happier when I look at myself in the mirror. =)

Invitations on the GO

I finally finished the Chinese layout for our invitation card. It looks very cool but al with the help of PIN YIN nowadays or else…I can’t wrte them, only READ. However, I vow to teach our kids Chinese words (being equipped with Chiu Zhao through me, Mandarin through school, then Cantonese through TVB soaps). Haahaa..it’s all planned out!

Anyways, so how come no one is leaving me any comments? Must I post something funny here?

Invitations will be received by the end of July, then sent express to our guests (hand delivered) hahaa..I must say though, that the majority of our friends who are attending our wedding ceremony + banquet already knows about the date and are doing planning already. So those that we’re giving to…I really don’t think they will attend. It’s just a courtesy to invite them as well. No offense. =)

Good Things Come with a Price!

I finally found it! My wedding accessories (necklace + earings) for both my ceremony & banquet, but it came with a price (I will post the images later on). I really hope that it’s worth it at the end by looking at our wedding pictures.

So what have I been doing? I’ve been undergoing training to become a HOT Yogi at Bikram Yoga (trying to lose weight really…for our big day). I actually bought a yearly membership there since 2006 and I’m finally putting it to use now. My advice is that anyone who can do this, can do anything!

Jason and I are finally going to buy/rent his tuxe tomorrow. He’s been putting this off for a while. Anyways, we’ll take things easy.

The majority of planning for this wedding have all been done, except for the following:

-photographer, transportation from Penang to Alor Setor (Boy)

-ceremony favors, DIY ceremony wedding program, buy sandals (white & gold for photo shoot in Shen Zhen), casual outfit (may)

-*wedding cake, *florist, *print banquet menu, book make-up artist/stylist in Alor Setor, book StarCity Hotel (Ping)

*I have to send photos to Ping very soon.

Have a good one today!
